But recently, I have been in this melancholy funk. In my spare time, I sit in the Cavern or in the side porch and write in my journal. I write about my dreams, thoughts, hopes, plans and confess everything to my $8 200 page book that suddenly becomes invaluable the second I start writing in it.

I get these funks (or phunks, as I sometimes spell them) about once a year. It’s mostly because I have a super dramatic side to my personality and I allow it to take over sometimes. I really shouldn’t let this melancholy come over me but sometimes being a little bit like Anne of Green Gables is appealing. I may not have auburn hair and tons of freckles but I do fall in love with characters from books and I create romanticized versions of a lot of the situations I find myself in. Nobody ever said being a little dramatic was a bad thing… right?

P. S. One of our surrogate big brothers is home from Uganda where he worked a lot on this project. He also got really sick while he was there. We’re all really happy that he is home — and healthy.

Well. That’s not the only reason for this post.
This is also the post that’s going to completely change life in the Cavern.
You might want to put your seat belt on… *clickclick* Okay. Everyone ready?
Remember this post? And this post? You’ll notice they have one thing in common…
Yep. New Haven, Connecticut.
In approximately 3 weeks, 2 hours, and 15 minutes (Well, not for you, because you’re reading this after I write it, but it’s at some point in the afternoon, on September 9th) Oscar and I will be on the road to Conneticticut, but – not just for a road trip this time..
See all these wonderful smiling face?

Well, they are justonesmallreason I’m going. Look ^ second row. That’s me!!!
But really. I know. This changes a whole bunch of things. But I also know it’s going to be really good. Really good. The Lord is really doing some cool stuff amidst all those smiling faces and I get to go and be plugged right into it. It’s going to be awesome.
I’ll keep blogging. (even though recently I’ve been horrible about it… sorry ’bout that) And L & C will keep blogging. We’ll just blog from different locations now. And sleep in different rooms. And not wear the same clothes. And not do everything together all the time (thank you Jesus for video chat).
But, I’m going to have lots of new opportunities. And new friends. And chances to learn new things. And see new places.
And - I’ll probably eat way too many chicken wings (*coughmaymaycough*).
Excitingness – eh?

Shoes. Dresses. More shoes. Flowers that don’t come in boxes but from our neighbors yard and are now taking over our house and I just had to add them in the list because — well, just because. More dresses. More shoes. You get the picture.
And then of course we get other stuff, because we HAVE to. In fact – it’s a rule. Pshhhh. What am I talking about? Oh wait. I DON’T know what I’m talking about! Ha. . .whoopsy. Anywho.
With some birthday money I bought sandals that were on sale and some yoga stretch pants…that were also on sale. And guys. Just buying THAT was branching out. I mean. When someone gives me money as a present I normally just put it in the bank because I have a strange obsession with seeing the number in my bank account get higher.
I don’t like spending money. But I told myself that buying a couple things with money that isn’t even technically mine would be OKAY.
Yes, I know.
I. Am. A. Weirdo.
Preach it to me. I don’t care.
The title of this post is actually the name and color description of the shoes I’ve decided to wear for Sister #4′s wedding. And I couldn’t think of anything interesting and random for the title so just pretend that it amuses you to know this boring detail.
Sometimes I Google random things.
Google search: shoe fly
Ouch. Just looking at it makes me ummm — I think I went blind.
Uhhh. Guys. I can’t see.
Guys? You there?
*gasp*
Are you blind TOO?

You know – all of those cheesy, twangy, “listen to me sing about my truck and my girl in the same song” sounding ones? Yeah. We listen to those. . .And love them. I created a playlist on Grooveshark of all country music. It plays on shuffle way too often.
Random video that made me laugh:
HAHAHAHA. Oh, I shouldn’t be laughing — but you have to admit…you laughed too!
Oh. And I guess we should tell you that we’re aunts again. Early Wednesday morning at 2am we all went down to Sister #1′s house because she was in labor. At 4:52am our nameless niece was born… And we watched the whole thing. Yes, we attended the birth. [Strangest.Experience.Ever.]
Isn’t she perfect? Well – except for the nameless part. But we’re letting that slide.

anyway. i thought you’d like to know that we are, in fact, actually being productive and maybe tomorrow we’ll have a real post because our room is all sorted through. maybe.

J came home with a new guitar. I played it. It was fun. New things are always fun though, right? Well, they’re supposed to be at any rate…haha. Details.
Sometimes J and I sit in our music room downstairs with the lights off, jammin’ on our guitars trying our best to create music that actually sounds good. And sometimes, our music is real good. No joke. We’ll show you sometime.
L likes giving us fashion shows, which really just means that she tries new clothes on for us to look at. Poor lady (yes I said lady because she totally IS the old grandma), I try hard to be excited about it all and J, well, I think she tries — I really have no idea — but I just don’t get that excited about new clothes. Don’t worry. She gets excited no matter what our responses are.
Sometimes we will all be sitting in our beds and talking…. (well, let’s face it — J and L take turns talking and I either chirp in with sarcastic comments or laughter — we’ve got a rhythm — so don’t mess) and where L’s bed is she can’t see me, so I look at J while L is talking and mouth little comments here and there that make J laugh but L has no idea…. Now she knows ’cause I just told the whole world and the whole world would in fact, include her. SHOCKER.
I had coffee with a couple of friends today. And no. Those friends WEREN’T my sisters. Surprise, right? We sat at a table drinking our coffee and laughing at practically everything. Before I met up with them I was thinking about the fact that they are both my height. I laughed a lot at that. “HA! The giants unite – YES!” I think it’s really funny. You don’t have to laugh if you don’t want to. I won’t be offended.
FYI: I just voted this “best picture in the world”.

Posted: August 5, 2011 | Author: L | Filed under: Uncategorized | 1 Comment »The other day, I went to Ottawa with one of my dear friends. We brought her brother to the airport, walked around the Byward market, ate food at an Irish pub, searched for a Lebanese bakery, and I got my city fix. Which is basically some retail therapy (this time it was a $25 wonderfully constructed 60s inspired Little Black Dress) and a good cappuccino.
Ottawa (the only decent city within an hour and a half).
And this is in case you forgot what I look like.
And you want to know what we did this morning? Well, we played dress-up with my shoes and accessories. What else are red heels and big floppy hats for?
C: early mornings with cute little ladies
Posted: August 4, 2011 | Author: C | Filed under: Uncategorized | 2 Comments »We get to wake up to these two squishy/adorable faces for the next few mornings. Happiness.
The Scoobs:
Bear-Bear:
The first morning Bear-Bear woke me up at 5:30. She’s cute so I let it slide.
The next morning I was wide awake at 5:30, expecting to see a chubby face awake at my side. But I was the only one awake… Bear-Bear lay sleeping next to me and continued sleeping until 6:30. I, however, didn’t fall back asleep.
Thanks dear child for putting me on a new sleep schedule… It is greatly appreciated…Not.
And of course, L had to take an early morning video of us all because we just looked so good. (hahahaha).
Sorry. I was just momentarily laughing at the “we just looked so good” part because let’s face it — we didn’t look so good.
