C: Morning Faces

I thought I’d show you all how beautiful we are in the morning — or how not beautiful we are in the morning… ha. Details.

J is on her way to Boston — she’s been awake since 5:30. So apparently she and I are trading spots in who wakes up the earliest. And L? She still holds 1st place with sleeping in. Thata girl.

Unfortunately for L, I could only catch her sleeping, but she was lucky enough that she happened to be covering her mouth.

J was up bright and early… So when I text her for the photo, I just said “Still have a morning face? If not, make one, take a picture, and send it to me…”

So this is what we got:

And me? Looking like my usual morning self… which doesn’t usually mean a good thing. (There is a reason why I take a shower every day)

Happy Saturday-ing!

(I hope y’all are looking better than we are!)

Update on those Cavern Girls.

Sometimes L comes home from work and discovers things like this:

Appetizing? That’s the exact word they used!… But not really.

L’s reaction? Something similar to having a mental breakdown.

Speaking of mental breakdowns…

L and C (and everyone else in the North Country) have been experiencing some bipolar weather. The consequence? C has been drinking hot chocolate, which seems normal — but it’s JUNE.

What’s J up to?

1) Hanging out with our Shmelville girl… Who, by the way, is making very similar faces in both pictures — I guess someone’s in a rut!

2)She is counting down the days until she is home.  (‘nough said.)

3) Making C’s day by sending her a text saying “Gosh you belong in Georgia”.

  • If you’re bored of your summer music choices, here’s what the girls recommend:

J: Restless by Alison Krauss (some country tunes are never a bad idea!)

L: Cameo Lover by Kimbra

C: Cold Shoulder by Josh Turner (surprised?)

C: Coffee Date Time

Our coffee supply has been quite low recently… And low means completely gone.

Somehow I survived; I love the routine.

But this morning there was coffee. (hallelujah)

Every morning our schedule is open for yard work and outdoor projects. So this morning we headed out to do some weeding, dead-heading, digging, etc. But then after 30 minutes or so it started raining.

Now, there’s something you need to understand. I don’t do dirt. Or bugs. Or plants and bushes that scrape my skin and leave red marks. Nope, I don’t do it. So going out there and playing in dirt is hard enough.

But RAIN? It turns dirt into mud and this does not make me happy… Not to mention how wet I was!

It was quite the morning.

Other than getting wet and dirty and falling in love with clean showers because of being dirty, I’m listening to this track.

(A new friend from Spain showed it to me)

It’s completely different than most Adele covers, and talk about groovy… Major score.

L: {warning} lots of pictures.

I KNOW. I’ve been completely MIA. Life’s busy, okay?

Yesterday was a wonderful Sunday. The only things on the agenda: church and dinner at a friend’s house. Easy going Sundays are the best. Fo shizzle.

I sat in the back row of church. Maybe it’s just a lifetime of sitting in the front but I’ve really taken to sitting in the back. It’s my favorite.

The boys cut the pies & we had fresh strawberries with our dessert. And I’m quite serious when I say those are the cutest little strawberries IN THE WORLD. You can’t really tell what size they are but just trust me on that.

We took a walk. It was lovely. Stupid telephone wires got in the way of the picture but still. Isn’t this like a painting or something?

Lex learned how to shoot a gun. She did very well. We are all quite proud of that city girl.

C watched Lex. Then she participated:

Her hair cracks me up. Does it get any better than that?

All of us. There are some pretty fantastic people in my life.

I ended my day with a cappuccino made by my brother in law. OH YES.

Per Lex’s request: the video of me shooting the gun.

C: Saturday things.

It’s a beautiful day at home. Sunny, not too hot, and there are sounds coming from all over this little bustling neighborhood.

My day started with breakfast at our famous Madrid Hometown Diner. It was just me and F.L.A.B #1. (I still laugh at that name for the poor boy… I’ll have to get more creative).

Short ‘n sweet. But nice.

My day then continued with dogs. Yes, you read that correctly. Dogs.

Little Brother is dog-sitting BIL #3 and Sister #3′s two dogs. But I end up doing some things with them too.

Loving: The newly baked bread sitting on top of our oven. It’s just so pretty looking… and now I sound strangely obsessed with how bread looks. Huh. Moving on.

Not loving: Our empty chocolate chip container. ‘nough said.
