C: I’m a simple girl.Posted: October 15, 2013 | Author: C | Filed under: A Bunch of Random, C, Uncategorized | 1 Comment »
The simpler the better. Less is more. That’s how I prefer things to be. So when suddenly [but not suddenly because I was waiting for it] there was a ring on my finger, I knew that I wanted my wedding day to be simple because that means less panic, stress, and chaos for me.
Our wedding party consists of a maid of honor and a best man. No flower girl, no ring bearer; that’s it. There will be four of us in those wedding pictures and I love that.
When I went dress shopping along with L and my mom I chose a dress in the first store we went to on the day that we went. I didn’t want to look around to consider other options. I chose a dress and that was that. Not long after that day it was in my closet and I didn’t have to worry about it any more. And as if I needed to be more lucky, it didn’t need any tailoring — I put it on and it fit perfectly.
The reception will be hors d’oeuvres. No seating charts, no worrying about how many tables we’ll need, none of that. People can walk around, eat food, and fill the room with conversation and laughter. Does anyone really need more than that?
Honeymoon. We have no grand plans for right after the wedding. We’ll stay in the area for the week and be around to celebrate Thanksgiving and once again keep it simple. But the day after Christmas we will be going on a sweet little trip. He had asked me where I would go if I could go anywhere in the world. So I told him “Georgia”. And no, not the country – the state. I’ve always loved that southern plantation world and for years now I’ve always wanted to go to Georgia and I don’t know why, so that’s where he’s taking me. Not Paris, Italy, or Rome.
It’ll be simpler, much simpler than that. And that makes me so happy.
