C: Weekend Sentences
Posted: July 27, 2012 | Author: C | Filed under: A Bunch of Random, Summertime, Uncategorized, Weekends | 1 Comment »It’s the beginning of the weekend which means I’m that much closer to seeing J and L again!
Just a few more days.
The Cavern is repainted completely, and I’m just letting it dry and cure and what not before moving in our loads upon loads of things.
Goal: Somehow use fewer shelves in our room so that we don’t block the minimal natural lighting. {crossing my fingers}
I’m sitting in L’s office chair right now. Therefore, I took a picture. I thought it necessary.
I found these treasures:
Thanks, Sister #4 , for the lovely picture. You were are always good with those!
C: First Breakfast
Posted: July 21, 2012 | Author: C | Filed under: A Bunch of Random, Summertime, Travel? Yes, we do., Uncategorized, Weekends | 1 Comment »I’m awake. Earlier than usual. And I can tell when I wake up earlier than what I’m used to because I’m more hungry — strange? Maybe. But it’s an excuse to eat homemade bread with jam and a homemade granola bar accompanied with coffee. YUM.
At 5:30 I said my goodbyes to J and L as they make their way to Honduras for one week. [they're pretty excited]
One week can bring a lot of change, and that’s what I’m hoping to do with the Cavern.
I know I know! “Changing the Cavern?!”
It’s true — It is about that time.
Although the Cavern has treated us well, it’s time for a new look.
I’ve got paint sitting on the floor waiting to be used.
I’ve already emptied the room quite a bit even while we were still living in it — cause I’m pretty sure you don’t need artwork hanging on the walls in order to fall asleep. {HELLO!}
Little Brother has a little “nook” in his room that he doesn’t use. It’s the perfect space to store a lot of our things — Win.
I think we’ve told you about the “Post-It” wall, right?
Well, it had to come down.
7 categories for 7 days.
Lots of silly notes that don’t make sense and pictures that would never pass as real art.
And of course we enjoyed some time in the Cavern with J — She’s home for good!
I’ll be posting again when this new look is done (I’m crossing my fingers!).
New paint, some de-cluttering, and lets hope L likes it when she gets home!

But yesterday afternoon, when both L and C were completely exhausted, they found Niece #4 extremely hilarious.
L: {warning} lots of pictures.
Posted: June 11, 2012 | Author: L | Filed under: A Bunch of Random, Summertime, Weekends | 2 Comments »I KNOW. I’ve been completely MIA. Life’s busy, okay?
Yesterday was a wonderful Sunday. The only things on the agenda: church and dinner at a friend’s house. Easy going Sundays are the best. Fo shizzle.
I sat in the back row of church. Maybe it’s just a lifetime of sitting in the front but I’ve really taken to sitting in the back. It’s my favorite.
The boys cut the pies & we had fresh strawberries with our dessert. And I’m quite serious when I say those are the cutest little strawberries IN THE WORLD. You can’t really tell what size they are but just trust me on that.
We took a walk. It was lovely. Stupid telephone wires got in the way of the picture but still. Isn’t this like a painting or something?
Lex learned how to shoot a gun. She did very well. We are all quite proud of that city girl.
C watched Lex. Then she participated:
Her hair cracks me up. Does it get any better than that?
All of us. There are some pretty fantastic people in my life.
I ended my day with a cappuccino made by my brother in law. OH YES.
Per Lex’s request: the video of me shooting the gun.
C: Saturday things.

My day started with breakfast at our famous Madrid Hometown Diner. It was just me and F.L.A.B #1. (I still laugh at that name for the poor boy… I’ll have to get more creative).
Short ‘n sweet. But nice.
My day then continued with dogs. Yes, you read that correctly. Dogs.
Little Brother is dog-sitting BIL #3 and Sister #3′s two dogs. But I end up doing some things with them too.
Loving: The newly baked bread sitting on top of our oven. It’s just so pretty looking… and now I sound strangely obsessed with how bread looks. Huh. Moving on.
Not loving: Our empty chocolate chip container. ‘nough said.
L: road trip music
Posted: May 24, 2012 | Author: L | Filed under: Music, Summertime, Travel? Yes, we do., Weekends | 2 Comments »I’m leaving for Connecticut tomorrow to visit J. Hello, road trip!
Confession: this is my first trip alone. Besides, you know, the ones where I’ve flown to foreign countries. So I should clarify: this is my first road trip alone. Which I’m finding far more weird. It’s a different level of independence. And it’s mildly terrifying.
I turned 19 last week and now I’m acting all growed up. Weird, right?
Anyway.
As with most road trips, the music is quite important. I already have all my favorite country music on my phone and today I bought a bunch of Shania cause there is nothing like Shania, Starbucks, and an open highway. But I still need to find more music.
So, what’s your favorite road trip music?
L: Car rides.
Posted: April 30, 2012 | Author: L | Filed under: A Bunch of Random, Weekends | Leave a comment »J came home for the weekend! She was a good big sis and came to meet Baby E and say goodbye to C as she heads out for the month.
We didn’t take any pictures, do anything too special (the usual trip to Walmart OF COURSE happened) or make any interesting videos for this.
But I did snag this while we were driving from crepes to a thrift store with two of our favorite people! BTW, car rides ALWAYS involve silly faces, singing loudly and laughter.
We have fun together. =)
L: Beautiful places and beautiful people
Posted: March 27, 2012 | Author: L | Filed under: A Bunch of Random, Faith, Weekends | 1 Comment »According to my phone, my life isn’t all that interesting but it is filled with wonderful people and pretty places. Wanna see?
His wrinkly nose is one of my favorite things and look at that cheesy smile! SERIOUSLY. How could you not love this kid?
The cemetery. Our cemetery. The one that’s just down the street. It’s one of my favorite places to go.
Isn’t it strange how you can feel so alive surrounded by so much death?
Walks with C and the youngest nephew. The pace is a little slower than usual but it’s totally worth having this little silly around.
Sunshine in my office. It’s a beautiful thing, I tell ya. Beautiful.
You know what else is beautiful? Being baptized. Publicly declaring that Jesus is Lord. The acknowledgement of Him as both Savior and King of the earth.
Also, that’s our big brother in the white shirt who is about to baptize someone for the first time. My brother loves Jesus. That is a beautiful.
And, also, the big brother has one of the best smiles. His smile is beautiful but it’s definitely creepy of me to think my brother’s smile is beautiful. But truth is truth, people. CH’YEAH.
My other favorite cemetery. I really am not creepy, I (sorta-kinda) promise. Whenever I’m at Bayside, I always feel like civil war soldiers should jump out in their blue uniforms from behind the big old maple trees. Which makes me creepy but for reasons other than loving cemeteries.
Do you see this pretty lady? Do you? DO YOU?! Well, she’s beautiful. We might both be extremely exhausted in this photograph (1am does not treat either of us wonderfully) but she’s my friend and I love her and I love this picture of us smiling through our exhaustion. How could you not love someone who is vivacious, full of Jesus’ love, and actually thinks I’m funny and likes being my friend?
In case you were wondering, that question is rhetorical and I do not want to hear your answer if it’s anything other than “I completely agree, O Young One. Completely agree”. Got it? Ok, good.

That would be the last week of my life in pictures. The undocumented things? Losing weight due to my juice fast, gaining it all back in two days, worshiping Jesus for hours, getting a serious case of the giggles, and contemplating different ideas and theologies and doctrines. Much like I said, my life isn’t that exciting but it is full. Full of beautiful people, beautiful places, and a beautiful Jesus.
St. Patrick’s Day
Posted: March 17, 2012 | Author: admin | Filed under: Holidays, Uncategorized, Weekends | 2 Comments »It’s St. Patrick’s Day!
Guess what L and C are doing?
Yep. That’s right.
Eating BARK. Oh joy.
The Cavern Girls hope your St. Patrick’s Day is more lovely than theirs!
C: Howdy.
Posted: February 24, 2012 | Author: C | Filed under: A Bunch of Random, Music, Uncategorized, Weekends | 4 Comments »Hi Friday afternoon.
I’m just checking in while I take a break and eat my lunch:
Since I didn’t have breakfast, I decided I would eat breakfast for lunch. Makes sense, right?
Eggs with sharp cheddar cheese, broccoli, oregano, and sea salt, accompanied by homemade toast.
It’s rather delicious. . .
I’ve been in an Amos Lee rut. I listen to him all. the. time. But just right now.
I’ll probably be listening to someone else very soon… for a long time too.
Anyway. It sounds like the laundry is done which means it’s time for me to make some beds.
So I hope your Friday has been more than lovely, or as I like to say, ‘peachy’.
